Sunday 5th November 2023
at least once a year we try to get out into our local community to clean, tidy or improve our environment. This Sunday more than 70 members of the group and a few of their parents descended on the local area to clean up two areas.
Scouts went to Chapman’s pond to clear paths and create a space for shelter building activities
Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Explorers went to Acomb Wood to clear the paths and ditches and remove litter
A lot of litter was collected
Many thanks to Anne Leggett at Chapman’s pond for helping us create the space and supporting us before and during the day and to Stephen Fenton and Beki Johnson at the Environment and Community team at the City of York Council.
Interested in taking part then why not join us, we’re always looking for volunteers to help support the children and young people in the Group.
