Chapman’s Pond/ Acomb Wood Clean-up
Helping out in the community is important to the group and a big part of being a Scout. From 12:00 on the 5th November we’ll be helping out in two locations
Scouts will be helping to clear an area in Chapman’s pond and cutting branches to make poles, at a later date we may be able to use the space we create and the poles to make shelters.
Everyone else will be at Acomb Wood, clearing paths and removing litter.

Remembrance Day Service
Held at St Edward the Confessor Church on Tadcaster Road, those wishing to attend should meet at the Scout HQ at 09:45 for a prompt 10:00 start. Flags will be paraded. Children and young people will be learning about remembrance during the service, older young people are welcome to stay for the full service. All will attend the war memorial at 11:00 for 2 minutes silence.

The Big Bounce 2023
We have exclusive use of Point Zero Trampoline Park for the whole group:
- 17:00-18:00 Squirrels and Beavers (arrive 16:30)
- 18:30-19:30 Cubs, Scouts and Explorers (arrive 18:00)
The cost includes a trampolining session, a pair of socks and food and drink (Pizza & Squash). Any child under 5 must be accompanied by an adult. There are height restrictions on some of the equipment; e.g. to jump off Enzo’s Tower you need to be at least 4ft tall.

Collecting at York Station
Raising funds for the group is much harder since the Covid pandemic. We have the opportunity to collect at York station and are asking members of the group to help us for one hour. Uniform will be required.

Larkin International Jamboree
Larkin is North Yorkshire’s International Jamboree, welcoming Scouts & Guides from all over the world to come together for a week of fun, adventure, international culture, and memories. All age groups can attend and some only attend for a day while others are there for the duration.

Group Camp 2024
This year we are going to Raywell Scout Activity Centre for our annual group camp. And as usual we intend to make it a fun packed weekend for the whole group. Parents attending the camp with Beavers will need to get a DBS check done and this needs to be submitted before the end of June 24.
