Meet Our New Vehicles

Dringhouses Scouts- Our new vehicles

Introducing Billie, Bonnie and The Dringymobile, you’ve probably already met Trailer Swift! The votes were counted and it was neck and neck between the top two entries so we took two names from each making them both the final winners.

The two minibuses have 17 seats each and can be driven under a section 19 permit enabling most people to drive them. The crew van has an additional 9 seats, ample storage space and a tow bar for pulling the trailer. As our Group has now grown to about 300 children and young people increasing our passenger capacity from 28 to 40 and enabling more people to drive (without the need for a D1 or D1+E entitlement on their licence means that we can provide fun and adventure for even more people!

Our new vehicles- names announced

Other Scout Groups can also hire out these vehicles for their adventures!

Massive thanks goes to our transport manager Phil for not only researching which vehicles would work best for us, but also sourcing, insuring and kitting them out and getting the graphics applied by our friends at Andrews Signs, as well as getting the vinyl wrap off the old minibuses, cleaning them advertising them and helping with their sale. A mammoth task!

Not all the roles we have in the Group are scout leaders and helpers. Many roles, like the transport manager, are behind the scenes and invisible to most, but they do make the group what it is today and we could not provide all the fun and adventure to our children and young people without people like Phil helping out behind the scenes. If you’re interested in volunteering with us, in any capacity, why not contact us?
